I've always liked this chain. Their salads are tasty and they have some variety. I prefer the chopped. Bacon and bleu chesse, right on! Back in the day, when I ate wheat, I can tell you that I tasted all pastries and they have all passed the deliciousness test. They have Fresca at their fountain, where you can refill it's zesty grapefruit freshness as many times as you like. Their coffee is good. My mom really likes their breakfast sandwiches, which are a nice small portion size and available all day. With all the bread here, if your gluten free needs are very strict, I'd be wary. But I've had no trouble with their salads. A few soups are also GF according to the website, chicken tortilla comes to mind. This location has an outdoor seating area under cover and adjacent to the parking lot and Palatine Road (but they have it!). This is a good place for kids, with its order at the counter format the service is pretty quick and its a step up from fast food. It'll be interesting to see how they will survive the new trends towards lower carb and gluten eating for all. Their menu is pretty bread intensive. Service here has always been ok, but the experience doesn't really have you interacting with the staff much. I have to remember they are here, tucked in the corner as they are!

The place is solid and consistant, although I do not frequent that often because of all the food eye candy at the register. It is very hard to resist all the yummy looking treats, but the venue provides a nice place to nosh, read, smart phone, chat, etc. A good third place venue.

I would have to agree with yelper Danielle S. that this is an average Corner Bakery. However, I think Panera does have more to offer excluding the delivery of the food...Corner Bakery serves your food to you when it is ready which is nice... The customer service here was good.. the staff were friendly.. If I had the option between Corner Bakery & Panera...I would go to Panera.. more options and the food just seems more fresh at Panera.. Costs: on the pricey side for the portion and quality of food you get... Atmosphere: good place to go with a friend, friends or family..

This corner bakery as my favorite sandwich. It's The toasted steak and cheese sandwich. It taste just like a Philly steak sandwich. You better believe it's not the most healthiest thing on the menu that much is for sure but it sure is the tastiest. Other things that taste pretty good here is the lemon chicken orzo soup. Stay away from the ham and turkey pretzel club. I know if you are up pretzel bun kind of lover like myself you might be tempted to get this menu item but there is just far too much bread in ratio to meat. Breakfast sandwiches are awesome here. I'd suggest getting the ham and cheddar one with roasted potatoes. Breakfast sandwiches are served all day long but you can only get the potatoes until 11 AM. If you're in the mood for dessert definitely try a cinnamon roll they are large and gooey. I even like them more than Cinnabon. Final vote one thing I love about this location is that you can get unlimited fresh squeezed lemonade. This used to not be the case but now that it is, I could sit here all day especially in the summer in their out side seating area enjoying my ice cold beverage while surfing on their free Wi-Fi. One other thing, Marci is the sweetest employee ever. You'll know what I mean if you have a chance to meet her.

Yummy! I first ventured to Corner Bakery when I stumbled across a coupon! Yes! Don't we all love coupons! However, it still felt expensive with coupons. Not that the food isn't good, it is, but still a little pricey for lunch. My favorite lunch plate is the Club Panini on Sourdough. The turkey is always fresh, Swiss always melted, and sourdough always crispy. For a lighter option, I enjoy the Ham on Pretzel Bread. The breakfast sandwiches are good, but they aren't quick. And not particularly the best breakfast sandwiches out there. The atmosphere is definitely a nice welcomed change from the usual Panera, Subway, and Jimmy John's typically lunch spots. It is normally fairly quiet and has a relaxed feel. I would recommend Corner Bakery for a casual lunch bite.

Reg Coffee is gone...went to the dark roast...it's tepid. I know I sound like Goldilocks, but hot coffee on a day with snow flurries is important. Tomato soup also tepid... Ugh! Cinnamon creme coffee cake dry and crumbly.... Not a great day here.

Had a great lunch with seven of us today. Great place with fresh ingredients. Place was pretty busy, the staff cleaned off a space for us right away, can't say enough about the staff, very helpful and professional. Sandwiches, soups and salads were great, again fresh ingredients, self service drinks nice atmosphere indoors with outside seating.

When my order is made correctly (which tends to be a crap shoot) I love eating here. I don't love spending $8+ per sandwich. Even though I'll always get the BLT in the summertime and spend far too much for it (because I'm too lazy to make it), their prices on food seem a tad hiked. The best thing about CB is they list the calorie count for each sandwich. So, if I'm having a fat day I can pretend to be conscious about the 600 calories compared to the 800 calorie sandwich I'm about to take down. I keep coming here because it's convenient and because it's not subway. :)

This is your average Corner Bakery - very comparable to Panera. Their cookies are awesome, their salads and sandwiches are very good, the Strawberry & Banana Smoothie is great, the store is clean, and the service is quick. The only issue we had at this location was my friend's coffee order - they ended up giving her the wrong thing and had a hard time understanding what is was that she wanted. But otherwise I have no complaints!

Parera Bread is my favorite fast food place. But if they had more of these, or any on the southside I would change my mind. I got a tuna on harvest wheat. It was one of the largest sandwiches that I have had in a while. The bread was fresh as were the tomatos and cucumbers. Very tasty indeed. They filled the plate with chips and the soda cup was also much larger than the P word. And the prices seemed about the same. The service was great as they brought the food to you. Hmm, what a concept. Love this place.

I love it as does my 5 year old nephew. I have been coming here with him since he was 2 years old. This is our special spot, he usually gets the mac anc cheese from the children's menu and I always get the chicken ceaser salad. The salad is out standing. We also get a couple of cookies or a brownie to munch on later for tea. The service I noticed in the past few years has gotten bad.The wait staff chit chat (with each other) and laugh for no apprent reason,. I find that very irritating. That being said the food is still good, I go there for the food and can ignore the uncouth behavior of the wait staff. The only reason they get 4 stars is because of the clowns they have for waiters and waitresses.

Went here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon around 2:30. Ordered a panini combo and finally came out about 20 minutes later. Not only was the sandwich cold, it was drenched in butter. On top of this, the tables were dirty. I won't be back.

I am a big fan of Corner Bakery in general, but I will NEVER return to this location. Ordered food to be picked up. Wife picked it up, and when she got home, we were missing an ENTIRE sandwich, which we paid for! I could maybe understand if this were a huge order for catering or something(but even that's uncool) but we ordered two sandwiches, one soup, and one salad! How the hell do you forget to pack one of the TWO sandwiches. This is not the first time this has happened to us at this store, but in times past it was a small side or something, that was irritating, but not nearly as much as a missing sandwich! Called store immediately and was put through to Sid, the supposed manager. We don't exactly live close to this store(15 min drive) but I was told if I did not return that day I could not get a refund. I did not have the time or inclination to do so, but was told by good old Sid that he could send me gift certificates and coupons to make up for their mistake. I said that would be fine. That was almost two months ago. Still haven't received them. Nice customer service. I hope the higher up's in the franchise see this post, because, as I said before, I really like Corner Bakery. Just not this Palatine location or that putz Sid.....

I like it. Not too expensive-- my hot tea was $1.89 and two mini rugalaches (deLISH) were $.99 each. The pastries and oatmeals are quite homey, the only detractors are the layout which is a bit uninviting to those looking for a nice corner to do work in before their Italian class who didn't want to drive all the way home. :) Staff was fine, not overly friendly. Corner Bakery is great because they have one of my favorite brands of tea, Mighty Leaf. These are strongly flavorful teas in artisan bio-degradable bags.

As much as I dislike the Vernon Hills location is how much I love this one. The set up is so much nicer, they've always got the food ready to go and they never run out of things, and the servers are really nice - even recognizing us week after week. We really enjoy going here for Sunday breakfasts - they don't burn the paninis like they do in Vernon Hills! Yeah, it's a little pricey, but the quality of the food is really good.

In suburban hell, Corner Bakery is a nice change of venue from Panera. This particular cafe, located on an incredibly busy intersection of 47 different roads, still manages to be calm and classy inside. The service is brusque, a little short with customers, but they had a lot of people to get through the line in the lunch rush. I wasn't looking for a new best friend. Corner Bakery always does a great job with tempting signage and nice displays, but the food really leaves something to be desired. I ordered a soup and sandwich combo, with poblano corn chowder and the Club panini. The soup was loaded with cream and had a nice, smoky flavor, but it was low on corn and didn't really satisfy me. The sandwich was soggy and dripping with excessive cheese and mayo (though the website promised "a touch"). Even with all the bread in the sandwich, my plate was covered in potato chips, also soggy from the drippy panini. I left lunch feeling weighed down and pretty cowed out.

I LOVE this place. Our family comes here all the time because the atmosphere is comfortable and warm. It's like Panera Bread in that you order your food up front. They have soups, sandwiches, breakfast meals, nice salads, amazzzing desserts, and more. Their artichoke heart sandwich is OUT OF THIS WORLD!! My whole family agrees. I know, artichoke hearts...sound nasty...but trust me, try it.

So I love corner bakery, I've been coming to them since I was a child when they used to have these amazing chocolate fudge brownies with marshmallows! They should clearly bring those back since they have simple fudge brownies now and those extra marshmallows give them that extra umph. This isn't my go to location since I normally go to the one in Northbrook court but this one has been a convenient lunch/dinner spot that isn't too far from me. I came recently for dinner around 6pm and it was pretty empty which is nice if you want to her in and get out. However, if you do come for lunch they get a little busy which I also don't mind but in case you're in a rush, keep that mind. Now into the important stuff. I always get the same thing here. I get the DC chicken salad sandwich on steakhouse rye with a cup of soup, bag of potato chips and a fresh pickle. This sandwich is the best! Full of chicken, apples, almonds, currants, a little mayo, and totally works with their bread. It's always a delicious choice here and it never seems to get old. As for the soup, I also always get the roasted tomato because it's fresh, healthy and perfect on a chilly or warm day since it's not heavy and not full of calories. Oh I love their pickles, they have the perfect crunch. My favorite thing here has always been the sweet crisps and I can seriously eat like ten of them without thinking. Definitely get them to go even if you are full. So they definitely have something for everyone with a bunch of salads, sandwiches, soups and delicious pastries. They also have their yummy homemade lemonade which works well on any hot day. Oh and service is fast and the people working here are very nice so that's always a plus. Will definitely be back and back some more, as some things never get old. Oh and I prefer this over Panera but shh don't tell them.

I am in love with corner bakery's loaded baked potato soup and chocolate cookies. Seriously,I have scoured chains for soups & cookies and corner bakery takes the cake! I was super pleasantly surprised when on my way out while grabbing my food to go which by the way took barely any time at all the gals through in two extra pastries for me! This totally made my day. I will be sure to frequent this location more now. Besides, It's cold now so I'll be craving warm gooey creamy soup more often.I can't wait to go home and eat my yummy dinner.

It's funny -Corner Bakery has been around for years and I had never really eaten there. Then, I tried it once and realized how good the food was! So, when in the area, if I'm in a "Panera mood" and there is no Panera in sight, I will stop by Corner Bakery. The quality of food and selection is very similar -sort of an "upscale" soup and sandwich shoppe. I never remember the names of what I order (I know, bad for a Yelper) - it was a greens / spinach salad with balsamic dressing and I added chicken. It was really good and filling. -Healthy too (I try to keep it healthy when possible!) I'm happy to have found another good option for soup and salad when on the run!
